
Jamal Hakim
MDDr. Hakim has been on the staff of Orlando Health since 1991. His practice now focuses on the anesthesia needs of the patients at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women &, Babies. He is also on staff at South Seminole Hospital, Orlando Orthopedic Outpatient Surgery Center and Florida Surgery Center.
Dr. Hakim has served Orlando Health in various capacities since 1991, including chief of staff, and interim president and CEO (2013-2015). In 2011, he was appointed the organization’s first chief of quality and clinical transformation, leading the development and implementation of a system-wide quality, safety and service platform that has since resulted in numerous quality awards and recognitions for Orlando Health hospitals and services. He also served on Orlando Health’s board of directors from 2007 to 2015.
Dr. Jamal Hakim assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer of Orlando Health in June 2015, overseeing the daily operations and management of all Orlando Health hospitals and their patient care as well as the organization’s clinical quality, human resources, corporate nursing, medical staff services and risk management.
He received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina; completed medical school at Indiana University in Bloomington; and completed his residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Board Certified in anesthesiology. He is active in many professional and community organizations. During his free time, Dr. Hakim enjoys spending time with his family, playing classical piano, and is an offshore fishing enthusiast.
